Santa Cruz, CA - United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 505, County of Santa Cruz have given their sole endorsement to Emily Reilly for State Assembly in the 27th district.
"The members of Carpenters Local 505 appreciate Emily Reilly's leadership as a member of the Santa Cruz City Council. We believe that with Emily's experience, she would serve her community well as a member of the State Assembly. We look forward to continuing to work with her on issues of economic justice," said Paul Cohen, spokesman for the Carpenters Union.

The Carpenters Union Local 505 of Santa Cruz County is affiliated with the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. The United Brotherhood of Carpenters (UBC) was organized in 1881 and remains the largest and most progressive of all of the building trade unions in America. Local 505 represents nearly 700 workers in Santa Cruz County.
Reilly has received a number of high-profile endorsements, including those of California Lieutenant Governor John Garamendi; Board of Equalization Chair Betty Yee; Assembly member Patty Berg, the former chair and current vice-chair of the Women's Legislative Caucus; The California Nurses Association; the California League of Conservation Voters; the Women's Political Committee; Democratic Activists for Women Now; United Transportation Union Local 23; the Santa Cruz Police Officers Association; the GLBT Alliance and a wide range of community leaders including past and present Mayors of Capitola, Pacific Grove, Salinas and Santa Cruz and members of the Capitola, Gonzales, Monterey, Santa Cruz, and Soledad City Councils.
