Women's Political Committee Endorses Emily Reilly

Santa Cruz, CA - Emily Reilly received the sole endorsement today from the Women's Political Committee in her race for the State Assembly. Reilly is running for Assembly in the 27th district, which includes parts of Santa Cruz, Monterey, and Santa Clara counties.

The Women's Political Committee is an organization dedicated to increasing the number of progressive women in elected office. The WPC has played an important role in getting many qualified women leaders elected to office in California.

"I am honored to receive the support of the Women's Political Committee," said Reilly. "A woman has never been elected to the State Assembly from this district before, and I hope to be the first."

Reilly is a member of the Santa Cruz City Council, the owner of a local bakery, Emily's Good Things to Eat, and a former two-term Mayor. The Assembly seat is currently held by John Laird, who is termed out in January 2009. Visit the campaign online at www.emilyreilly.com.
